It is a non-systemic insecticide, which means that it does not enter the plant that it is applied to. Instead, it works by contact and ingestion, killing the insect when it comes into contact with the insecticide or eats something that has been treated with it. It acts as a mitochondrial electron transport inhibitor, blocking the production of ATP and disrupting the energy balance in the pests cells. As a result, the pests become paralyzed and eventually die.
